Description

Main Function

  • Ensure the security of the vessel, cargo, crew, and visitors.

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS).
  • Skills and ability to recognise, understand, and deal with potential security threats.
  • Fully qualified with a proven record of competence for the position.
  • An above-average level of fitness and skills in tactful, diplomatic crisis and problem solving.
  • Good English language skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to comply with:
    • The Ship Security Plan (SSP).
    • Security Standard Procedures and other Standard Procedures that impact security.

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain the security of the ship and ensure the implementation of the SSP and Standard Procedures.
  • Responsible for gangway security and access control.
  • Inspect and patrol premises regularly.
  • Conduct security patrols of Restricted, Controlled, and Vulnerable areas.
  • Operate and manage CCTV recording and monitoring equipment effectively.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras.
  • Compile statements and reports.
  • Report all crimes, incidents, and safeguarding matters.
  • Participate in security training, drills, and exercises as required.

Additional Details

  • Maritime experience is an advantage.
