Job Title: Relief Commercial Cleaner
Reports To: Cleaning Supervisor / Site Manager
Location: Various client sites across the UK
Contract Type: Relief / As-needed basis
Pay Rate: £x per hour
Hours: Flexible – based on site coverage needs (may include early mornings, evenings, weekends)

Purpose of the Role

To provide high-quality cleaning services across a variety of commercial sites, ensuring a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for all users. As a relief cleaner, you will cover shifts at different locations to support absences such as sickness, holiday, or increased demand.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, sanitising surfaces, and emptying bins
• Ensure cleaning is carried out to site-specific standards and schedules
• Follow health and safety procedures, including COSHH guidelines
• Secure premises on completion of cleaning (if required)
• Report any maintenance or safety issues to supervisors
• Travel to and work at multiple locations as directed by management
• Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and effectively
• Wear correct uniform and PPE at all times

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience in commercial cleaning (preferred but not essential)
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Good time management and attention to detail
• Flexible, reliable, and willing to travel at short notice
• Understanding of health & safety practices in a cleaning environment
• Ability to follow instructions and complete checklists accurately
• Strong work ethic and professional attitude

Additional Requirements

• Right to work in the UK
• Driving licence and own transport (desirable, especially for regional travel)
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check if required for specific sites
