Job Title: Event Steward
Reports To: Event Supervisor / Operations Manager

Contract Type: Casual / Relief / Part-Time
Pay Rate: Per hour (age dependant)
Hours: Flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and event days

About the Role

We are looking for professional, customer-focused, and reliable Event Stewards to join our growing team. As an Event Steward, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety, security, and enjoyment of guests attending a wide range of events, including concerts, festivals, sporting events, exhibitions, corporate functions, and community gatherings.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist visitors, guests, and event attendees.
• Provide information, directions, and support to members of the public.
• Monitor crowd movement and help maintain safe pedestrian flow.
• Conduct ticket checks and access control where required.
• Support venue evacuation procedures and emergency response plans.
• Identify and report safety concerns, suspicious behaviour, or incidents.
• Assist with queue management and crowd control measures.
• Ensure event policies and venue regulations are followed.
• Liaise professionally with supervisors, security teams, emergency services, and venue staff.
• Complete incident reports and relevant documentation when required.

Skills & Experience Required

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service focus with a friendly and approachable manner.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in busy or challenging situations.
• Good observational skills and attention to detail.
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible regarding shift patterns.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Previous experience in stewarding, customer service, hospitality, retail, or security is desirable but not essential.

Essential Requirements

• Must be aged 18 years or over.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Ability to stand and patrol for extended periods.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Ability to travel to various event locations.

Desirable Qualifications

• Previous event stewarding experience.
• SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guard Licence (for progression opportunities).
• First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid qualification.
• Full UK Driving Licence and own transport.
